Volunteer with Peoples Hands
Volunteering means contributing your time, skills, and experience to community-focused work. Peoples Hands Organization welcomes enquiries from people who want to support vulnerable and underserved communities in Sri Lanka. Your contribution does not have to be large to be useful — a practical skill, a few hours, or help with one community activity can add to a larger effort.
Areas volunteers may support
Ways to volunteer
Peoples Hands Organization can consider four forms of volunteering. Available roles depend on current projects, organizational needs, and supervision capacity.
For people living in Sri Lanka who want to support approved projects and campaigns.
For professionals who can contribute remotely or through an agreed assignment.
Some tasks can be done from anywhere, subject to organizational needs and available supervision.
Students and young people may take part in appropriate activities, subject to safeguarding requirements and applicable age rules.
Where
Peoples Hands Organization is based in Pulmoddai, and its community-focused work includes Trincomalee District in the Eastern Province. Depending on current projects, volunteer roles may be in or connected to these communities.
Placements are confirmed, not assumed. A placement is listed only when there is an active project, appropriate supervision, and a defined role — ask Peoples Hands which roles are open now.
Roles
Learning activities, school-support events, educational resource preparation, reading activities, awareness sessions, and education campaign support. Any activity involving children follows Peoples Hands safeguarding procedures.
Food distribution preparation, community outreach, distribution documentation, logistics, campaign communications, and emergency-response support. Volunteers never distribute assistance or represent Peoples Hands without authorization.
SEO, website content, social media, graphic design, video editing, online fundraising, digital campaigns, research, and translation — from anywhere, when suitable tasks are available.
Peer-to-peer and community fundraising, online campaigns, donor outreach, event fundraising, and social media campaigns — using only Peoples Hands-approved campaign information and donation channels.
